Ultimate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 525 grams brownie mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract

Brownie Mix

  • 440 grams sugar
  • 120 grams flour
  • 85 grams cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp fine kosher salt

Filling

  • 1/2 cup creamy honey peanut butter
  • 1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk


Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lightly grease a 9×9x2-inch metal baking pan
  3. Line pan with parchment paper (2 pieces cut to 8 3/8" x 14")
  4. In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract; stir until combined
  5. Spread slightly less than half brownie mix into prepared pan
  6. Combine sweetened condensed milk and peanut butter in a medium bowl until smooth[1]
  7. Spread thin layer of peanut butter mixture evenly over the brownie mixture in the pan[2]
  8. Spread remaining brownie mix over peanut butter mixture
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until top is set and edges are lightly browned
  10. Cool completely in pan or on a wire rack
  11. Lightly brush with caramel sauce


Notes

  1. For people who like to ruin brownies with peanuts, a 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts may be added
  2. Remaining peanut butter mixture can be frozen and re-used by warming in the microwave, or eaten as a frozen treat
